Live by the brick die by the brick!
One of my oldest memories stems back to when I was around 4 years old helping my dad load bricks into his van and trapping my fingers when stacking them! Isn’t it funny when something hurts you never seem to forget it!
My whole life I have never seemed to be able to get away from bricks! My grandfather on my mums side worked in a brickwork factory, my other grandfather was a bricklayer with then most of my uncles and dad also being brick layers so being dragged out of bed on a Saturday morning from primary school days to help load bricks out was the norm!
I have grown up working on all kinds of projects from restoration of heritage properties to working on new builds. When I turned 18 years old I brought my first van and trained as a bricklayer achieving my NVQ level 3 in advanced craftmanship and was taking on my own projects along with helping others on much larger prestigious builds and restorations.
Bricklaying simply wasn’t enough for me, so I also started cleaning them! This was when Brooklands was born in 2016 when I turned 23 years old.
Since then, I have worked tirelessly to incorporate all of my knowledge in bricks into training a specialist team of brick cleaning technicians. It always seems to amuse us at Brooklands when new technicians start working here how they think brick cleaning will be a walk in the park until they commence both the theory and practical training and then even 5 years later still seem to be learning things! There really is so much involved which is why I put so much time and effort into our education and training so our clients can reap the rewards of our quality workmanship.
There are millions of different bricks out there from lots of manufacturers and each type of brick most often needs cleaning a certain way to achieve the best outcome.
Our highly skilled team are trained in the various methods and approaches of cleaning various type and characteristics of bricks so we get it right and present buildings in the best way possible with causing minimal damage.
Buildings are very expensive assets and simply hiring somebody on a cheap price can lead to devastating results which often cannot be reversed.
The specification of our specialist cleaning vehicles is designed by us and our cleaning machines fabricated at our HQ, this allows us to provide many unique options to projects where less experienced contractors may not.
We clean bricks in so many ways, our machines tell us the working pressures which we always set to each type of brick prior to cleaning to avoid any unnecessary damages, we have the option of using cold water jet washing or superheated DOFF cleaning and with a range of custom made scraping, brushing and chemical spraying tools which have all been developed in house over the years making us a market leader in the industry.
Lots of our clients use us by default and we still have our first client from over 10 years ago, they rely on our specialist knowledge and capability and can always rely on us to deliver projects no matter how complicated. We don’t just clean bricks but we are so good at it we decided to make a website just for brick cleaning.
If you were going to have brain surgery you would be very careful on ensuring the brain surgeon has the knowledge, confidence and capability to perform the job right and we ask you very kindly to do the same when selecting a brickwork cleaning company to work on your most valuable assets as we do get offended when seeing buildings that have been ruined by others!
If you have a requirement for brickwork cleaning, then we welcome your enquiry with open arms and look forward to giving your walls the love and care they up most deserve.
Yours sincerely, Luke Harvey
